Date/Time: Sep.
07(Monday)/02:00~02:45
Location: I checked out
that Strozier would open at Labor Day at FSU.
Unfortunately it closed so we sat on the outside chairs.
Topic
discussed: FSU football game of this Saturday, professional football players,
kids who want to be a pro player and pressures from their parents, the American
presidential candidate Donald Trump and Korea’s political environment
Cultural topics
you and your partner learned: It seems that football is popular only in the U.S. In France rugby is popular and in Korea
soccer is. Neila explained how rugby and
football are different. We talked about
future sports player kids and agreed on that wealth of theirs are likely to decide their
futures.
We discussed how different topics students talk about among the U.S., Korea
and France in their daily conversations. Unlike American and Korean ones, French students usually talk about their politics, not about gossips
about celebrities. She used to read
newspapers in the morning when she was a high school student. I told my experience for encouraging students
to read newspapers. I have not been accustomed
to talking about politics with classmates or colleagues because it would make
most Korean uncomfortable. She is worried
about the political environment which is favorable to Donald Trump so I told
her the former Korean presidential candidate who ended up failing to become a
president. Neila showed her
understanding so I felt relaxed during our conversation.
