Hannah TS#4

On Friday I met with Keunhwa at Leon Collins Library. As we talked about last time she picked out a magazine and she also brought worksheets along with her. We began the session by talking about how we felt we did on the midterm and what we thought we messed up on. Afterwards she explained her the various worksheets she provided and what she wanted to work on. The first worksheet we went over was one that dealt with a and e sounds. She explained that these sounds were difficult for her to reproduce so she wanted me to listen to her speak and write down what words I heard. After she read through the list, she checked what I had heard and she only messed up on a couple of words. We practiced pronouncing those words until she had the correct sound. I reassured her that if she messed up on the pronunciation that it would be okay. If something sounds a little off, native speakers will be able to use context clues to figure out what she is trying to say. At the end of the session she wanted to practice explaining her grammar lesson plan to me. I think it went well! I need to make sure that I mark down any pronunciation errors that I hear during our session. That way I can help her better.
