September 20th at 5pm, I had my first tutoring session with Manal. We met up at Victoria Grand Apartments in the main office. We took a seat at a table and Manal pulled out muffins, chocolate and several different drinks to offer me. I asked her what group level she is in and she told me she is in level 2. We talked about where Manal is from, how long she has been in America and what her goals are while she is attending CIES. She plans on passing the TOEFL and getting her masters in Chemistry. Manal explained to me that she has a very high level in writing and reading, but she needs a lot of practice with communicative speach. We did a few pronounciation activities for the first tutoring session. She was very interesting, kind and motivated. I will meet with her next Friday and prepare different topics that she will talk about and form opinions.
