Hannah CP#1

Yesterday after work I had the chance to meet with Henrique. He is from Angola. I thought our meeting was very educational! I haven't met anyone from Africa before so I learned a lot by speaking with him. He told me that he already had his degree back home but he was here in the States to learn English. He told me that it is really important that he learns English; learning English will open up a lot of opportunities for him back home. He's only been here 6 months but he speaks pretty well. Henrique is debating on wether on not he should complete his masters degree here in the US or in Brazil/Portugal. Completing his Masters in the States will be a lot more expensive than studying in brazil/Portugal but its helpful because he will be able to continue learning English. He told me that he has issues with vocabulary but he is working hard at studying. He has learned Spanish, Afrikaans, and has tried to learn Russian as well. Hopefully I will be as successful in my own language learning journey!
