CP#1 Garret

Yesterday, September 10th, I met with Khyrsi, a student at CIES. I think she is a level 2, but I cannot remember. She is from Venezuela, and has only been in the United States for 3 weeks, but she speaks very, very well. Khyrsi was a licensed lawyer in Venezuela but quit her job to come to America and study English. She explained to me how the politics in Venezuala have so much to do with basically everything from education to agriculture.  While explaining the reason she quit her job as a lawyer, which was the result of her disagreeing with the political influence on a particular project (which she did not want to go into detail about), she explained to me how dirty the politics are over there and said, "I do not mean the politics like in America, they are really, really bad over there," She explained that she is so excited to be in the United States and that, upon graduating from CIES, is considering participating in an International Law masters program, which is offered through FSU.
