Justin CO#2
On Wednesday September 16th I observed a reading class. The professor was Kyle Kaminski who I had met a couple days before the class. I found his class very interesting as did the other students. The students were very engaged which makes the environment upbeat positive and facilitates the learning process. Kyle started the class with an interesting way of looking at vocabulary. The word today was over-the-top which was fun to see how you could teach new speakers this aspect of the language. After first activity Kyle moved into the main lesson. The students have been reading a book about a women who thinks her husband has died. The story is vivid and paints a great picture of what freedom can come from someone leaving your life. After they finished reading they were instructed to answer a few questions about the book. I was put into a group and I led the discussion,. The students worked well together to find additional meaning within the text and I could tell they enjoyed having someone like me there with them explaining what happened. I enjoyed this observation because I became a part of the class.
