Hye-jeong has really started to become excited about reading with me. We have been reading a chapter book called "Maybelle in the Soup" and as soon as we sat down together, she asked to start reading. I decided to use this as an incentive, so I told her we would read if she finished her homework first. She's clearly very intelligent, and she is particularly good at spelling even when it's a word she doesn't know. It makes me happy that she's taken such an interest in reading the chapter book, and I hope that this excitement will lead her to try to read more on her own. After reading, we did a worksheet on adjectives. We spent at least 20 minutes talking about adjectives. We practiced using the adjectives by describing ourselves and she also described the Maybelle character from the book.
