Topic/Skill: Living in South Korea, Pronounce contrasting pairs of vowels, Presenting the grammar teaching/ Speaking and pronunciation
Feedback provided from tutor, Hannah: She showed a lot of pictures which were taken when she was in Seoul. She made close Korean Friends and they gave her a nickname. I couldn’t believe that she lived in Seoul only for 4 months. I brought the paper for pronunciation of contrasting vowels. It’s hard for me to pronounce ‘left’ and ‘laughed’. She told me her Korean friend’s story which was similar to mine. She told not to worry about that. If I pronounce them wrong, America would understand them because they would use context. I was relieved, but I had to practice them a lot. I worried about the grammar teaching presentation, so I explained my plan to her. She said to me that our classmates were students and they would understand it.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutor you learned: She taught me palindromes like her name. She showed me how to pronounce ‘left’ and ‘laughed’, ‘sheet’ and ‘shit’, etc. She likes to drink various kinds of tea. It was interesting for her to like jujube tea because it did not look like tea but soup. Hannah likes living in Seoul and enjoys doing something new and fun.
