This was my favorite classroom observation thus far. I loved the way Jasmine structured the class and had her students under control. She knew how to create a good learning environment where the students were all engaged. I also liked all of her teaching techniques and lectures. She did several group activities and had the students work in pairs. She did a great job at monitoring all the group discussions and gave many students individual attention if she saw the struggling with a topic. This was a speaking class and it was for beginners. She had a lot of patience with her students, which is very helpful. There was one cool activity where she had pieces of paper in a little bucket with questions. Each students had to take a paper and discuss with their partner about the given topic. For example: "What do you like to do on the weekends?" Each partner had one minute to discuss and answer the question, then they would switch, and the next partner would answer their question for one minute. This gave an opportunity for each student to participate and practice their speaking skills. I would love to go see Jasmine in action again. I learned so much from her methods.
