Today, September 10th, I met with Maria (the girl from my very first tutoring session and blog post) from 12pm to 1pm. I expressed to Maria that I felt as though she had a firm understanding in regards to English grammar and that I wanted to focus mainly on getting her to speak more with me. She explained to me that instead of focusing on speaking that she would like to sharpen her grammar skills even more, and that one aspect of English grammar in particular that she wanted help with was Prepositions.
I quickly researched the topic and devised a lesson for us. I remember certain techniques that I used when I learned Prepositions in middle school. I made notes for her and explained to her basic concepts, as well as a few tricks, that can be used to better understand Prepositions. I told her that I am going to make a list of the most common prepositions and will have an additional lesson on Prepositions for our next session.
