Today I
finally got the chance to meet my child tutee! I drove out to the North West
library to meet with her after school. I talked with Youngseo's mother and she
let me know that she thinks Youngseo needs to work on reading more and
increasing her vocabulary. Since it was our first session I didn't have any
specific lessons planned. Youngseo and I read through Madeline.
While we read, there were occasional errors but nothing that bad. After we
finished reading I had Youngseo draw a picture from the book. Once she finished
we labeled the different items in the photo and I corrected any spelling
errors. Before we meet next week I will try and prepare a more difficult book
and some flashcards for her to study. Overall I thought it was a good
first meeting! I can’t wait to meet her again next Wednesday.
