Date/Time: Sep. 4 (Friday)/ 04:30~05:50
Location: at Leloy Collins Main Library
Topic/Skill: learning a new
language/vocabulary and speaking
Feedback provided by tutor, Hannah: She told her story about learning
Korean. She had lived in Seoul for 4
months before she started this TEFL course.
She is planning to go to Seoul this February. She's studied Korean, so I assume that her
level of Korean is pretty high. She said
that she could learn listening and reading without any help, but speaking could
not be learned by herself. However, she talked to herself in Korean, when she
practiced speaking. She and I are in the same boat. She inspired me to learn English harder.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutor
you learned: She explained some words that I had not known : spunky, sloppy, sassy. After
listening to my speaking, she told me I had some awkward pronunciations. She
did not pinpoint my errors, but I hope that she will correct them next time. To learn a new language and moreover, live
aboard, asking a lot of questions is an essential key. So I told her a Korean proverb which has a
similar meaning with asking as many question as possible. She will bring her leaning-Korean-work next
time. I wish we could help each other.
