Aviv TS# 1

Yesterday me and Andrea had our first tutoring session; with me being the tutee and her the tutor.
At the beginning of the session, Andrea introduce herself and asked me some questions about my life.
We found out that we share some aspects of our life in common like the fact that we both have family from Miami and we both learned two languages growing up. I found it difficult for her to understand my goal of the session. Since I already obtain a high level of proficiency in speaking, i explained that i needed help reading and writing. The fact that i learned English with my family and not in a class room situation, my knowledge of grammar  terminology and vocabulary  is slightly off. It's hard to know what topics are missing because I'm not familiar with them. Therefore, if I want to teach English I need to complete my knowledge of it first. Andrea went over the list of grammar terms on page 201 and specifically covered adverbs, prepositions, determiners, and articles. I found it to be very helpful and meaningful. I'm looking forward to continuing the tutor sessions with Andrea, they are affichent and very helpful.
