Hunter CO#2
Wednesday, September 9, I attended Andrew Wilson's reading class for group 4A. We began class with a word of the day. Today's word was epithet. He explained to the class that it was typically racially-charged and intended to insult someone. Afterwards, the class performed a timed-reading exercise. They were given ten minutes to read "Iceman." They were to read it quickly but at a pace where they could still comprehend the passage. As each student finished, they wrote down their time and flipped the page over to answer questions based on the passage. Once the page was flipped, they could not turn it back over. When the ten minutes were up and everyone was finished, we of course went over the answers. When this exercise was complete, students then had to clear their desks to complete a quiz. All students save one were still not done when time was up and so they were allotted extra time to complete the quiz after class ended.
