Yesterday, September 9th, I met with Aviv. Aviv, as you know, is very proficient in the English language, however, he expressed to me that he often struggles when reading academic-level writing. I asked Aviv what I could do to best assist him and he told me that I would best help him if I could read parts of the book with him. Overall we spent two hours together, however, this blog post recaps only the first hour. Between 4pm and 5pm Aviv and I read over chapter 12. There were a few questions that he had in regards to teaching grammar. I showed him my grammar lesson plan and explained to him that the internet is a phenomenal resource that will, at the very least, allow for him to introduce himself to a concept. Also, I told him that if there is anything that he does not understand in regards to the English language, for him to look it up and then come to me with the topic so I can assist him in understanding it.
