Ellen TS#13

Tutee: Do-jun Kim
Date/Time: Thursday 24 September 2015, 9:30-10:30 am

This tutoring session I decided to continue working with modal verbs. However, with this lesson we would be moving ahead to using modal verbs in the future tense. This lesson was bit a trickier because so much of expressing modal verbs in the future tense relies on emphasis, inflection, and context. There is no difference between the conjugation of modal verbs like “should”, “must”, and “could” in the present and future tense. This made it especially hard to explain when to use each form to Do-jun. I will probably review these concepts next week to make sure that he fully understood when to use which verb and how to express what he wants to say. This lesson also began to touch on conditional phrases which was a bit much for Do-jun to cover one hour. We will cover conditional phrases next week after reviewing the material from the past weeks.
