Tutees: Matthew and David Hong
Date: 10/2/15 5:00-6:00 PM
To me, this was probably the least effective tutoring session that I took apart of. Instead of the normal hour session, the two tutees wanted to be split up into two 30-minute sessions. I think this is the main reason that I did not accomplish as much as I set out to accomplish. For this week, the tutees had science reading comprehension homework. They read the passages and answered the comprehension questions at the end of the chapter. The first tutee was faster than the second tutee on completing the reading comprehension exercise. Therefore, we had time to go over vocabulary words. Some words he knew and could use in a sentence. Others, I would use in a sentence in context so that he could learn the definition of the word. I thought this was an important exercise and that he learned a lot of information very quickly. The second tutee barely finished the reading comprehension exercise within our shortened time, so I had no time to go over vocabulary with him.
